2100 Views on YOU-TUBE

"THE BRICK"

2100 views it hit this week. It is doing real well and is being watched all over the World. You-Tube has been great with getting the Music video in all parts of the GLOBE. It has been fun getting to respond to some of the comments this past week. I hope you can share the message of this song with others. "Thanks for all of your Support."

In today's latest comment I thought I would share with you what one viewer said about "The Brick"
I used to get lots of friend requests from people trying to promote themselves. Usually the music was nothing like what I was interested in, and even worse it was usually far away from the values I cherish. So I usually rejected those, although there were exceptions. You are an exception.
I like your style. Let me guess, you're a
George Strait fan, right? You sound a little like him (that's quite a compliment), and you even look a little bit like him. Same hat! Wait a minute, now that I think about it, I've never seen Dave Hutzler and George Strait in the same place at the same time. Hmm...-

"I want to thank all those that have taken the time to drop a few lines about their feelings on the song... THANK YOU."

"Please let me take one more minute of your time and Introduce my next Music VIDEO,,,,,,,,"
Oh wait,,,,will not be able to do that until next WEEK,,,,SORRY!!!!! I can tell you the TITLE

HIGH ALTITUDE TRAINING CAMP

RED MOUNTAIN PAYSON TRAINING CAMP 7-18-22-2011
WHAT???? "NOW A SINGING FOOTBALL COACH"

Well, it was a week off from the Recording Studio while the new song is being Post Edited. It is really going to be a professionally produced Music Video with a great message. "A PAUSE FOR THE CAUSE"

SO,,,,I traveled with the RED MOUNTAIN FOOTBALL TEAM to Payson Arizona to the High Altitude Camp. "It was a blast" Being a part of this Coaching Staff is so much Fun. I am working with the Junior Varsity Defense and assisting with the Offensive Line. The 2 most important positions on the Team. Need to have great lineman to block and open running lanes for the pretty boys and a defense that will not allow the other components to score. It keeps me around the youth and I enjoy it very much.
I have been coaching for about 11-12 years in some way and in some type of sport.

The Young people today are challenged with so much and they give it their best in the training and drills that we ask them to do. The support from the parents plays a large motivating factor for them being a successful player and team mates. Thanks to all of the parents that support these efforts and help out in any way that you can.

Football in my Family has been a big thing. In this picture Jared could not wait to put on His brothers new Helmet. We went to East valley to get his new helmet for the 2011 Season. That always gets them in the mood..(He wore it into Fillaburtos) Jared supports his brother James and James has been going to games for a long time supporting Jared, The sisters have also been to a lot of their games to cheer and support their efforts!!! It has always been a Family Activity!!!! They have been good players since they both started to play way back in FLAG...It has been a great experience to coach and be a part of the learning of HOW to play this GAME!!

It was the best thing ever to be able to volunteer and help teach the Sport of Tackle Football.

Wow, This is where it all started for me, learning to play the Sport of Football in Phoenix.
I had such a great time hitting and playing in the Games. I can still remember going to EAST HIGH in Phoenix to play our Games on Saturday Morning. I played Center on the Phoenix,
HAWKS

BACK TO PAYSON CAMP!!

This was my sleeping quarters while at Camp. No one wanted to use this Pole Vault Pad,,,So guess what Coach Hutzler did??? Slept like a champ for 4 Days. It was so much fun talking Football for 4 Days with all of the other coaches. They are a bunch of great guys that Love the Sport and enjoy teaching the young men how to become better players.

And the rains came,,,,, in the
afternoon and the boys had to run back to the Campus at the Payson High School.

It was down pouring and the boys and myself ran all the way back, it was about 1.3 miles
. By the time
we got back everyone was drenched.... They had to walk, run or jog a total of 24.3 miles in 4 days to and from the parks where we practiced. It was 3 times a day,,,it got pretty old after a while....

It was raining so hard you could not even see very well while trying to run.
This is a picture of James and a few of his friends trying to make it back to campus. Trying to keep their gear dry. It was soaking through everything.

This was the Hill that the players were to get conditioned on for the 4 days they were up there. it was not as extreme as the one the Varsity had to run but we did this hill, over and over again.

The Junior Varsity actually did run the Varsity hill one
day ,,,it was brutal. Steep and forever!!!!

DAY IN PRODUCTION

"LIGHTS,,,CAMERA,,,ACTION..."

The Production of the New Music Video started at around 9:00 am on Saturday the 9th of July. It was filmed at Sandra Sorenson Kindts' beautiful home in Mesa AZ. The filming crew was preparing for a long day of Lights, Cameras and a whole bunch of little people singing, playing making messed and just being little kids. Jay and John Kereny were preparing to follow the story book for the new Music Video from Dave Hutzler titled:
"Handwriting on the Wall"

It was taken from a unknown authors story then arranged with music from Dave Hutzler and professionally recorded at The Virtus Group in Phoenix AZ. Trying to get just 3.12 minutes of actual Music Video playing time was pretty extensive. Cameras in place, Lights had to be just so, the day seemed to start off really well. John Kereny took charge along with his brother Jay and his wife to followed the script. It was so cool to see how the filming was to take place. So much work goes into such a production, and so many people never get the credit they deserve.

THE FAMILY

Would like to introduce my little family which played such a gigantic role in this musical Video. They were real troopers and did whatever they were asked. (Names will be withheld fo
r privacy matters.) Everyone did their part, even a stand in brother who is a child star in the wing. He was so into all of the production process, asking so many questions along the way. He was used to help assist the little brothers in their roles during the IN HOME production shots.

THE MOM- Had to show a side of herself acting out something that she said she never does to her little Boys...Being mean and strict. ,,but ya know she did real well.... Thanks so much for your time and effort,,You are awesome..... The Music Video will be released after post production and it will be placed on YOU-TUBE. The Music will be available on I-Tunes for downloads by the first of August. So much time and effort went into making this short story on film happen.. You were all so great!! It was 6 Hours of setting up and Shouting action as we never took a break until all of the proper footage was taken.

LOCATION SET UP

SKUNK CREEK FLATS- Phoenix AZ.
It was out to location at around 6:00 p.m. to start setting more light and cameras. It was only around 109 degrees when the film crew started the set up. Worries of Rain and Monsoons lingered in the air. I really wanted to complete this portion of the filming on this night. It was with allot of Faith that the weather would stay away so we could complete the capturing of this live performance.

The Band Surefire
arrived and started to set up for the filming of this Music Video. Their time for this production was donated and I appreciate my Cousin Mike Lawrence and his wife Leslie for making this all possible. The majority of the Band performed the song in the recording studio a few weeks ago. They all arrived and got PLUG IN, TUNED UP, and ready to play. The people started to arrive and it was time to get the PARTY STARTED.

FIRST EXPOSURE OF THE NEW SONG TO THE PUBLIC

It was time to Explain the the Fans what was happening for the next 45 minutes. We were going to run through the song and have breaks while the film crew caught the action on tape. We just played back the recorded version and sang along with it,,,,so much fun to watch everyone start to clap and sing along with the music. After around 30 minutes the fans were asked to come up front and participate in the Audience shots for the Video. That was the BEST..

Thanks to everyone that made this night possible. Please watch for this Music Video on YOU-TUBE and the single will be available on I-Tunes in a few weeks.

THE NEXT STEP

"THE ROAD TO THE RADIO"

I would like share with each of you
where I would like the "Brick" to GO,,,,and that's on the RADIO!!!!

There has been some great things happening with
"The Brick" this past week.

Most of you know that for the first 3 weeks of being introduced to the You-Tube, I-Tunes, and Amazon industry it has done very well. I had for my personal goal to have it viewed at least 1000 times. I am very proud to announce that with all of the viewers help it was at 1,051. Now comes the next Step which is even more important than the FIRST!!!
Getting it on the "ROAD TO THE RADIO"

There are still many challenges come from attempting this type of Project...Questions like ???? Is the song any good? What makes you think people will buy this song, or even request to hear it on the Radio to begin with? What I am willing to do in have each of you travel with me down this road so we can do it together. Seems like having a little knowledge in this industry would surely help in the efforts. But I do not. So I am going to try everything I can to make it all happen for "The Brick" I know that this song has a very powerful message. The comments and reviews have been heart felt and with such positive reflections I am to think it could be the one to make its way to the Radio and there touch the lives of Hundreds of People. I am soliciting your assistance.

Having the opportunity to share this talent with everyone has been a great experience. The Studio Recording has gone so well thanks to the professional musicians and studio producers. Jay Kereny and his efforts at The Virtus Group
have been so much help. They have mastered all of my songs and have them prepared to be cut to the album in the next few weeks. To them I give a Shout Out!!

As for some of the connections that I have made for "The Brick" it has been pretty good. Seems like people are willing to listen to and then they would give me their opinion, we shall see.

I have also put in an application for the programer to view the song and then give their suggestions for "The Brick" on one of the popular stations here in Arizona. This station has been around for a long time and plays my Favorite Country.

In this type of industry it really depends on a few major things to fall into place. As I was told from an experienced songwriter, "it's all about timing"
-(quote from Jim Howell).

The other thing I seemed to learn real fast is WHO DO YOU KNOW??? Trying to overcome these two things cane be very difficult. I will do whatever I can to give "The Brick" its time,,,and make myself known to those who believe in the message of this Song "The Brick" That is my Goal.- Dave Hutzler

REACHING MY FIRST GOAL

"A GOAL NOT WRITTEN DOWN IS ONLY A WISH"

I set myself a goal on the 7th of June to see if "THE BRICK" my song would get at least 1,000 views by the end of the month.
Latest News from the YOU-TUBE Channel of Dave Hutzler:
http://www.youtube.com/user/davehutzler?feature=mhee

TOTAL NUMBER OF VIEWS TO DATE: 7-2-2011 Total 1,108

This is all made possible by the hundreds of Viewers that took just a few minutes out of their every day busy lives to watch this message through song. I have had some great reviews and interests in the Song.

I wanted to share with each of you the words of the song and let you all know there have been some great metaphors about this song.

“The Brick” by Dave Hutzler

One day as I was driving through my town,

To my surprise I heard an awful sound.

I stopped to see what made that big loud noise,

I found a brick and one lonesome boy.

I grabbed him by the shirt and asked him why?

Tears started down his face he began to cry.

“You smashed my truck” I yelled at the young man,

No one would stop and mister I need a hand.

Please Mr. please you got time to spare?

It’s my brother, he’s laying over there.

I didn’t know what else I should do,

I can’t lift him but I can with you.

Tried to swallow the lump in my throat,

Moved beyond these words these feelings I wrote,

I never fixed the side of my ole truck,

I kept the dent, prayin it bring my luck.

Chorus:

Sometimes in life we move to fast,

We think about ourselves and our past,

Listen to the whisper, its

silent and its quick,

Let this be a

warning,,,,or wait for the brick.

Listen to the Whisper , It's silent and it's quick,,Let this be a warning,,,,Or wait for the Brick

Well, it has only been 3 weeks and I did what I wanted to do. "I met my Goal,, and with all of your help, this song can make it to the RADIO.....That is the next Step.

"Thanks to all of my Dear Friends, we did it together"-Dave Hutzler

Long Recovery

,,,and life goes on,,,with a pretty rocky start.

After a very short air line flight home, I was met at the airport and picked up by my new Mother In Law!!
I do not remember the flight home because I was sent home with so many drugs in my system as to feel nothing. I was taken to their home while Renae and her friend drove from Salt Lake.
"I wish I could of been in that Car to hear just a little of that conversation."

6-7 MONT
HS ? are you kidding me??

I was taken to a friend of my In Laws who worked on Broken bones. The cast that they put on in Salt Lake needed to be removed. The swelling had gone down and the pain was terrible. They re-took some of the x-rays and determined it was a Called a Green stick fracture? or something like that.

All I knew was that it was hurting like holy cow, and I wanted to just go back and re-do that trip. My choices with the casting was to go in and Plate it with a metal plate or just keep changing casts until it mended. They wanted to do electric waves to speed up the healing process. So I did the Changing Casting method. It took forever. It was a very hard time for me allowing people to serve me and provide help and showing Charity. What can I say,,,I learned a lot.

PURSUING AN EDUCATION

Renae was substituting with Mesa Public Schools and finishing her degree at ASU.

I was attempting to continue my schooling at Mesa Community College. Hobbling to class with book bag and crutches. I did what I could.

Work was slim, food was sparse but we survived. We ate at our Parents home a lot whenever possible.

I remember times going to my Parents Home and they would take us outside to their Pantry that my Father built for my Mom. They would say"come out to my MORMON Pantry" and we would fill up a few brown bags of Groceries. It sure helped out in the time of need.

Renae's Mom and Dad would help out with so much and tried to assist us in any way that we needed. They were close and could come over and see what we could use.
They were so supportive.

"I think by this time Renae was just about ready to send me back to my Parents",,, (and I could see why) This was a very challenging time for us. We were to see if we were going to be able to take on the future trials that we were to have as Husband and wife. It was our Refiners Fire. We did take on our challenges and work together through them all,,,it made us stronger individuals and a much closer couple.

The Return

Halloween Night 1981

The day had come when I was to return Home from my Mission. I was scheduled to arrive home on the 31st of OCTOBER ,,,that's right Halloween Night.

I landed at the Sky Harbor International Airport and I had arranged to have Renae meet me there to pick me up and drive me to the Stake Presidents office so that I could be released. It sure was good to see her after all the time that we had been apart.

We had written each other for the full 2 years and she was my main support as I was away Serving the Lord. After arriving at the Stake Presidents Office I was released and we drove from there to my Mom and Dads house to see them and talk about our Future plans.

The night was filled with interruptions though,,,These little people kept knocking on the door and wanting,,,,,that's right,,,,, you got it right,,,,, CANDY

PLAYING CATCH UP

All I wanted to do at that time was to talk to her and look into her eyes. She was the most beautiful person that I had ever met. I was ready to talk about our Future. We had been making plans to be Married on the December 1st 1981. I was ready and so was she. So that is what we did.

She was going to finish her last year at ASU and I was going to start my schooling and work construction with a Framing Contractor in Mesa. We had crossed all of the Tee's and dotted all the I's.

DECEMBER 1st 1981

Everything went as planned. Renae had worked so hard to get this all ready for us on such a short period of time.

We were Sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple for Time and all Eternity.

I have never been happier in my life knowing the I was going to be with Her Forever. It was a special ceremony and friends and family supported us and wished us the best for the future.

I remember looking across the altar, holding her hand and seeing that happy person that I met just 2 years previous at that Young adult swim party.

"Who would of ever thought that Our Relationship would grow into a Forever Bond of LOVE."

We moved to our Apartment in Mesa where we managed some Tri-plexes to keep the rent money down. We found work where we could and tried to save a much as possible.

"MISSIONARY REUNION DISASTER"
Then our First Disaster struck...
We traveled up north to do a little Snow Skiing with one of my Companions, and the very last
run after skiing all day was one that I will never forget. It all happened at the Brighton Ski Resort just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. I was going down a run following one of my past companion Pete Hoj from my Mission. I remember him saying "just follow me". So I did. I was not that good of a skier, but I did not want to tell him that. We knew we had to get off the mountain because it was getting late. I was in deep powder,,,,In Arizona we don't have deep powder,,Oh Well, I was doing OK until I tried to turn to the left going down a pretty steep hill. Just as I tried, I fell over and my binding did not release and I heard the CRACK sound and the pain start immediately. I knew right then I broke my leg. I yelled for him to come back, as he did I tried to pick up my leg with the ski still attached and it just went limp. He told me to lay still and he would go for help. Not even 2-3 minutes had past and we heard some people coming down the hill right behind us.

It was the Brighton Ski Patrol combing the mountain for the day. As they heard us yelling to them they came over and I heard the one guy say,,,"you guys are pretty lucky,,we are training some new Patrol on how to bring down victims." Well, that was me,,, I was a victim. My leg was hurting so bad, I told Pete to" give me a blessing so that I would not feel so much pain". He did, with the assistance of a few Ski Patrol members. They stabilized my leg and down the hill I went for about 1 hour. They had to lower me down in sections of the hill, and with every release of the rope I could feel the pain in my leg,,,bone rubbing on bone. It was not until I said a quiet prayer asking the pain to please stop did I receive total comfort. Got down and my Pete Hoj told me he would drive me to the nearest Hospital. The whole time getting there in a little Celica, I kept thinking to myself,,"How am I going to explain this to Renae." Pete had called ahead and notified Renae on what had happened and where he was taking me.

As I drove up to the St. Marks Hospital emergency, I notices a couple nurses standing there waiting for me. One of the nurses, a very nice size women just reached into the little car and told me to "put your arms around me and I will lift you and get you into the chair". Well, she did just that. When she picked me up my leg hit the door and just fell limp again, sending that "shocking pain to the Brain". Inside we went, Drugs were administered and still pain. They gave me something a little stronger and then I told them "they could do whatever they wanted with the Leg,,,I did not feel a thing". They had to cut the boot off, and proceeded to cast the leg clear up to my crotch. Top Boot Fracture. Renae arrived and she was wonderful through the whole thing. Trying to give me comfort and keeping it all together. We had no insurance and I kept thinking how were we going to pay for this. To top it all off, we drove up to Salt Lake and so Renae called her mother and they sent us money for a airplane ride home for ONE...Me....

"GUITAR PERMISSION"

"Is there a GUITAR in the ROOM?"

Off to CANADA for 24 months and no GUITAR...WHAT????This will be the first time in my growing up years that I was not able just to reach down pick up my guitar and play. Was I going to be able to cope with not playing? It was explained to me that the reason for Serving a mission was not to pick country songs on the guitar. I accepted that, but I also knew how much I loved playing the guitar.
Well, I landed in Calgary, Alberta Canada in the dead of the winter. My first assignment was to go to Edmonton, Alberta,,,even farther north and even colder. It was right before Christmas and the ward that I was assigned to was having a Christmas party. We had a Mission song that we were able to sing in the areas where we served,,,,so one of the Members just happened to have a GUITAR and so,,,,we worked out the song on the guitar and there I was playing again not long after leaving home.

It was so much fun learning to play all of these Church songs on the guitar. They asked us to do a couple number. I remember I played just background music for my Trainer as he sited the words to: "the man in the glass" It was a great message and the sound of the guitar was a welcomed sound for me,,, and others.

Here in this picture to the right,,,
I played a song on the guitar while playing the Blues Harp at the same time. It was a song that I titled..."Moving Train". It sounded like a train coming in to the station. "IT was awesome" I still remember the applause that I got from the crazy song. The people seemed to love it a lot!!

I Met a very special couple while serving in West Edmonton, Brother and Sister Ray Lonsdale. They would invite us over to their home for Sunday Dinner. He was the Top Salesman for Yamaha in Canada and had years of playing the piano and even the guitar. We got along real well.

We would all stand around the piano after eating a wonderful dinner prepared by Sister Donna Lonsdale and sign all types of Church songs with almost perfect Harmony. I would play along with the guitar and found a new love for Church Music. It was really the first time in my life that I ever played "Sunday go to meeting music on the Guitar" There was a time that Brother Lonsdale transcribed for me a few songs into sheet music on the piano that I wrote while on my Mission in the year of 1981. I will be recording those in the future. I hope I can do justice to the beautiful way that he played it on the piano. I hope to find someone that would be able to come into the Studio to record the songs. That will come later.
One of the things that I found out while serving on my Mission is that the Lord will Provide. I hardly ever went into a persons home that I did not see a Guitar in the Room. I never worried about playing, the opportunity was always there for me to play. "I would just ask a simple question after seeing a guitar in the room,,,,Wow, nice guitar,,,,,who plays?" That is all it took. After a while I actually went into a few members homes and they would have a guitar there and ask me to play a few songs. I would explain why I played the way I did and went through a little history of my conversion to the Church. I was able to have non-members come to special meetings where I would play and sing all types of Songs. It was a Blessing and a great opportunity for me to introduce the Gospel to many people as I was doing what I loved to do,,,Playing the guitar.
I also learned many other valuable lessons while serving the great people in Canada. I was taught to give myself to service, to help others, become interested in others needs and desires. Stop worrying about ME. It taught me how share my talents with others no matter what talent that might be. I Loved My Mission. I Love my Savior Jesus Christ and dedicated the rest of my life to His service in whatever capacity that might come.

The time went fast and I was to return home on the 31st of October 1981. I was wanting to stay, but I was ready to go home to see the one that was waiting for me and supporting me my entire mission.

I was ready for the next stage in my life. To continue my relationship with what I felt was going to be my Wife, and Mother to my children and My Eternal Companion.

Making Choices

CHOOSE THE RIGHT June16th 2011

"and now for the rest of the story,,,,,"

As was mentioned earlier I met a girl by the name of Renae Sorenson.
She was from Mesa and came to one of the activities that we were having in our Stake. A swimming party was planned and I was asked to bring my guitar and just have a nice sign along time with a few of our friends. (this is how I remember the evening going down)
We were all swimming and eating and there were a lot of people in attendance. At one point of the evening We were all sitting on the porch and I got out my guitar and was playing a few songs. I noticed a new person in the crowd, that I could not keep my eyes off. She was brought to the party by a guy that lived in my Ward. I knew of him, did not know him very well because he was attending BYU.
The funniest thing that I would like to point out is that they were the only people there that was not wearing a bathing suit. I remember playing songs, eating and then jumping off the diving board as to splash the new girl. I did my best to get noticed!! I remember going back over to the porch and asking if anyone had a request for me to play. Then this girl spoke up and asked me if I knew any BREAD????? Country boy playing BREAD!!! WOW,, I tried to fake as much as I knew on the guitar and kept trying to get her attention. As the night was coming to an end I wanted to get her contact information. As she was getting ready to leave, I walked her quickly outside to her car and tried to do it without her friend knowing about it. I then asked her if she ever attended the Wednesday night dances in Phoenix or Mesa. She told me that she was working and that maybe Wednesday she would show up. That was a shot in the dark, but at least I tried. I really wanted to have her come there so I could get to know her better.
Wednesday Night came and I was at the dance 1 Hour Early. Danced with a few girls and kept watching the door for her to come in. It was getting late and I thought she was not going to make it. There was only 1/2 hour left untill the dance was over, then I remember her coming through the door, and as (she recalls I came running up to her!!)-maybe I did.
I asked her to dance and then walked her out to her car. I remember her tearing off a check deposit slip that had her info on it and I told her I would like to call her. I also told her I was playing in a band and asked if she would like to come out and hear me play. She said she would think about it and ask one of her friends if she would like to come with her. I remember calling her that night and we talked a long time.
Well, She came way out to North Phoenix with her friend and they both got hit on as soon as they walked into the nightclub. I was taking a break and noticed them come in. Walked down as asked if they were OK. They stayed for a few sets and then they drove back to Mesa. I called her and we spoke a long time, night after night. I remember driving to her home way out in Mesa, and not getting home until 2-3 in the morning. Then getting up for Construction work around 5 and doing that night after night. It is funny what Love does to a person!!
We became very close and I had to explain that I was already in the process of waiting for my Mission Calling to arrive. That did not go over very well. It was a very hard conversation for me to have. She was going back to BYU after the summer and I was preparing myself to Serve.
Time went by real fast. The phone bill from Phoenix to Provo was crazy.
Then it arrived. I was called to Serve in the Canada Calgary Mission

It was a very exciting time for me. I did not even know where this place was. My Dad told me right off the bat that "I was going to Freeze up there." Pulled out a Map to see where it was. Called Renae and explained that I was to report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo on the 25th of November 1979.

So, I was off to Salt Lake City, Utah. She drove up there and gave me a ride to Prove,,,(with one of her friends).
She drove me to the MTC and assisted me in carrying my bags to the room. We did not know she was not supposed to go in there. We got up about 2 flights of stairs and then we heard all the Elders yelling out loud,,,"GIRL IN THE DORM,, GIRL IN THE DORM." She quickly headed down and I went out to give her my last hug and say goodbye for awhile.

So that is where I will leave it for now. My Choice was to Serve a Mission. I did have second thoughts after meeting and getting to know Renae of calling it off and seriously asking her to Marry me. But with my experience at the Temple, I knew I had made the proper decision, To Go and Serve the People in CANADA
